Overview
Draft and/or write various reports in a timely manner and ensure that the human impact of the disaster response intervention(s) is effectively communicated to World Renew’s constituents and donors. The incumbent is an essential part of the disaster response support team and works collaboratively with team members.
Responsibilities
Support the production of timely and accurate narrative reports, as requested
Work with the project manager (s) throughout the project cycle to ensure necessary information is being captured
Develop simplified reporting templates to assist in accurate and timely data capture
Work with existing monitoring and evaluation tools, systems and methods to improve the quality and timeliness of World Renew’s Disaster response reports
Write human interest stories for World Renew communications (and donor communications)
Support World Renew Tanzania with coordination of logistics for donor and other visits (e.g. accommodation, transportation, itinerary scheduling); as well as work collaboratively with bridgers in Kenya and Uganda as necessary
Support and coach colleagues in donor requirements
Assist with the design and planning of community resilience programming by supporting the proposal writing process
Perform other duties as assigned

Familiarity with the Christian Reformed Church and/or the Canadian Foodgrains Bank community is an asset
Additional Information
A minimum of a bachelor’s degree in Development Studies, International Development, Community Development or another related discipline
A minimum of one year cross-cultural work experience in a development or disaster response environment including writing reports and communication material
Language Skills
Must be fluent in English and able to communicate proficiently both verbally and in writing. Fluency in French is a definite asset.
Physical Demands
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential function. The incumbent, in this position, will travel to remote locations where running water and electricity are uncertain. The road conditions are rough and the temperature can reach the high 40s. In addition, the Project Assistant may potentially live in a remote location which will require diligent self-care and stress management.
