Programs Officer – WIHL Programs Officer – USAID Uongozi wa Afya Thabiti (UAT)

Job Summary:
KHF is seeking a highly motivated and dynamic Programs Officer to support the management and execution of this transformative program. The Programs Officer will play a critical role in coordinating project activities, facilitating stakeholder engagement, and ensuring the program’s success. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership and stakeholder management skills, be a creative problem solver, and possess excellent analytical, communication, and process facilitation skills. A commitment to excellence and producing tangible results is essential.
Key Responsibilities:

Serve as a key liaison between KHF and program partners, ensuring effective communication and collaboration.
Facilitate the development and monitoring of workplans for program activities, working closely with team members to ensure timely execution.
Prepare and submit weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual reports, highlighting key milestones and achievements.
Collaborate with the team to develop theories of change, results frameworks, and key performance indicators, applying project-wide Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning (MEL) plans.
Identify and manage risks throughout program implementation to minimize disruptions.
Develop and maintain knowledge management and communication materials, including the program’s communications plan.
Foster collaborative relationships with country and technical partners, ensuring consistent communication with internal and external stakeholders, including government partners and BMGF.
Work with the Finance team to monitor and track budgets and expenses, ensuring financial accountability.
Conduct qualitative and quantitative analysis on issues related to health leadership and governance, contributing to presentations, concept notes, briefing materials, and other program deliverables.
Develop and review key deliverables, including technical tools, workshop reports, and operational guidelines, providing constructive feedback to team members and consultants.
Represent KHF at health policy forums and seek opportunities to present the Women in Health Leadership Program’s work in Kenya.
Contribute to new business development efforts, including proposal writing and identifying funding opportunities.
Support recruitment efforts, including identifying consultants, developing contracts, and onboarding new team members.

Qualifications and Skills Required:

Bachelor’s degree in public health, health economics, public or social policy, public administration, international relations, business management, or a related field.
5 years of relevant professional experience, particularly in health governance, leadership, and gender equality.
Demonstrated experience with donor-funded grants, especially in managing relationships and reporting in a strict compliance environment.
Strong ability to facilitate processes and support initiatives related to health governance and leadership strengthening.
High level of organization, attention to detail, professionalism, and reliability. Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively facilitate high-level meetings and prepare clear, concise emails, presentations, and reports.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to understand and describe complex health governance and leadership issues.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook, and preferably Google Workspace
