Key Responsibilities:
Lead and oversee the startup and commissioning of a crescent former tissue machine
Guide both stock preparation and machine-side teams through startup procedures
Fine-tune machine settings to reach designed operating speeds, production targets, and quality standards
Identify root causes of process inefficiencies, downtime, and quality deviations
Support grade change optimization, fiber recovery, and troubleshooting
Collaborate with the local production team to build long-term operational capability
Provide structured training, coaching, and performance improvement guidance
Ensure safe startup practices and alignment with occupational safety standards
Requirements:
10+ years of experience in tissue paper production or machine commissioning
Hands-on experience with crescent former machines (Valmet, Voith, Toscotec, ANDRITZ preferred)
Strong understanding of stock prep systems, machine control, and process parameters
Experience leading or supporting paper mill startups, ideally in emerging markets
Excellent problem-solving, communication, and team mentoring skills
Ability to travel and work on-site in Nairobi during critical project phases
