Job Summary

The job holder will oversee procurement department, develop and implement procurement strategy, co-ordinate purchasing practices and maximize benefits from purchasing activities.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

Prepare, publish, issue procurement and disposal documents including invitation to tender, supplier prequalification and invitation to expression of interest
Maintain and update annually standing list of registered and approved suppliers required by the organization.
Coordinate the evaluation and analysis of tenders, quotations and proposal, prepare summary reports and commendations to facilitate the effective award of business.
Oversee the suppliers prequalification process, monitor designated contracts to ensure suppliers obligations are fully discharged.
Carry out periodical market surveys to inform the placing of order or adjudication by the relevant award.committee.
Acts as secretary to the tender, procurement and disposal committee
Work in liaison with the stores officer on stock levels and re-order levels for the next purchase.
Assist in preparation of monthly, quarterly, and ad hoc reports.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management /Purchasing and Supplies.
Master’s degree in any business related field added advantage.
Must be a member of KISM or CIPS.
Minimum five (5) years’ experience in a busy procurement environment.
Must be a computer literate and have integrity.
Ability to multi-task and pay attention to detail.
