Procurement Manager Credit Administration & Collections Assistant

You will play an important role in sourcing the best deals, negotiating hard and working collaboratively with internal customers and external suppliers for an ambitious Pan-African company.

To support the East African operations to ensure Sokowatch is always receiving the correct margins, supplier terms and procurement & delivery of products on time across all country branches.
Reporting to; Global Head of Supply Chain

Key Responsibilities

Organizational-Managing direct and indirect team(s) of procurement operations professionals and country managers with responsibilities across multiple branch locations to ensure network-wide standardization for all procurement related processes
Lead the purchase of non – inventory goods and services by securing price, capacity and service levels in line with commitments to the business by applying a wide range of sourcing tools (e.g. negotiation, strategic collaboration, tenders / RFP’s etc.)
Ensure effective risk management of the supply base through robust contracts. Implement corrective actions as appropriate. Manage all related commercial, financial and ethical aspects of executed buying runs
Drive the business to align with budgeted buying plans while keeping maverick spend at less than 2% of the total non – inventory spend
Responsible for providing support, training and guidance to junior and / or new team members. As well as coaching and motivating local operations buyers in the achievement of their objectives
Identify, achieve and report on cost savings and value targets for all non – inventory buying activities
Develop and implement a continuous improvement action plan. Monitor changes and adjust the plan as needed to sustain performance results
Demonstrate leadership by regularly maintaining & updating relevant OKRs
Advise, train and mentor junior supply chain team members

Key skills and competencies

Required: 4 – 5 years of experience in a similar role
Preferred: Strong background as a Procurement Specialist in OPEX or MRO
Bachelor degree, preferably in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Finance or Statistics
Ability to work efficiently and independently in a fast-paced sales environment
Demonstrate deep knowledge of procurement processes and procedures
Strong data analysis and superior organizational skills,
Strong oral, written communication & presentation skills
Willingness to travel for work across East Africa
Must love working with people and cross cultural team
