Key Responsibility Areas:
Design and deploy Procurement sourcing strategy in East Africa by identifying suppliers in the market, working on qualification of new players, developing and implementing cost models and finding synergies within supply chain
Leading Procurement in East Africa issues/questions relating to procurement of raw and pack materials and business services
Prevent supply stoppages but handling diverse customer, supplier or operational issues when they arise
Manage and maintain supplier relationships in Africa Cluster
Security of key materials through the development of contingency plans and alternative materials and suppliers
Ensure timely inputs to global/regional Procurement team based outside of the cluster
Prepare information and analysis of the portfolio, including price benchmarking and total cost analysis, to enable proper budgeting, cash forecasting and forecast variance analysis as needed
Delivery of cost savings and innovation agenda in the Africa Cluster
Support the financial analysis of the portfolio, including price benchmarking and total cost analysis
Support the performance and development of the Procurement Team
Engage and manage senior key stakeholders in the business, understand and address business needs
Manage the regional Third Party Manufacturers (3PMs)
Skills And Experience Required:
Minimum 7 years’ experience involving either procurement or supply chain or project management in an FMCG
Interest in sustainability and/or sustainable development / sustainable systems design
Great personal organization skills, attention to detail and ability to work to deadlines in the multicultural environment
Ability to articulate complex concepts clearly (both written and in presentations)
