Typical Accountabilities
Drives product pricing analysis and recommendation by analyzing competitive products and pricing, ensuring alignment with brand value proposition, understanding customer groups (patients and physicians), collaborating with Managed Markets and Contracting Strategy, and leading Pricing Strategy discussions
Contributes to the cross-functional team in developing local price strategies for all products in respect of global price policies
Develop a solid understanding of competitive market conditions that affect pricing for individual brands and overall industry
Evaluate changing marketplace and proactively makes recommendations on pricing strategies as related to managed care, reimbursement environment, federal and state regulations
Obtains relevant competitive information on managed care pricing and contracts
Assist legal and distribution manager in reviewing and draft distributor contracts
Manage the regions gross to net assumptions and exposure in liaison with the Finance function
Participate in the budgeting cycles by contributing to the valuation of sales, pricing strategies and assumptions.
Provides modelling of pricing recommendations and financial impacts for new and existing products
Serves as a resource for Licensing and Business Development in assessing price for potential opportunities
Effectively formulates and utilizes market research data
Validate all existing SSA price lists have been implemented as approved (Price Lists included are IHS Kenya; Uganda; Tanzania; Rwanda; Ethiopia; Kenya; Ghana; Nigeria; Mauritius; Angola; Mozambique; Portuguese Islands; Zimbabwe; Zambia; Namibia; Botswana; Madagascar; Lesotho & Swaziland)
Validation of current tenders (Ensure current tenders are running with proper approvals and build a current database with tenders, Collect tender data from countries, Compare running tenders with approvals, Validate tender prices and Initiate approvals where gaps are found).
Validate the Distributor/s price adjustment claims (related to the letter sent to all distributors) are aligned to the approved Price adjustment, Commercial Discounts on Price / Commercial Discounts through FOC or Tender
To follow the relevant DOA process for approval of the pricing claims to complete the claims template and ensure that the Distributor does the same using the specified procedures depending upon the way the respective Distributor implemented the Commercial Discounts on Price, Commercial Discounts through FOC or Tender, in market.
Essential Skills and Experience:
Must have a completed Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Business Analytics or Distribution management
At least minimum 5 years experience working in in Pricing and Analytics or Net Revenue Management
Extensive experience and exposure of working in Sub-Sahara markets and handing multiple currencies
Extensive stakeholder management skills
Excellent IT and Numerical skills
