Power Shift Africa Adaptation Fellow Fundraising Consultant Senior Liaison Officer Senior Strategic Communications and Advocacy Advisor

Key Responsibilities:

Assist in coordinating and providing support to PSA’s adaptation team.
Aid in the design, execution and monitoring of campaigns to raise public awareness and support for adaptation in Africa.
Contribute to data analysis on adaptation, challenges and opportunities in the African context.
Contribute to the development of policy briefs, research papers, or other knowledge products related to climate change adaptation in Africa.
Conduct field visits and engage with local communities to understand the grassroots adaptation needs and ensure they feature prominently in PSA’s adaptation efforts.
Assist to organise, promote and run virtual and in-person climate adaptation events and convenings within the continent and provide organising support to nurture their impact and effectiveness.
Build and coordinate strategic partnerships with key stakeholders.
Represent PSA in coalition activities and partner meetings as necessary.
Contribute to the organisation’s overall mission and strategic objectives related to climate change adaptation in Africa.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (e.g. Climate Change and Development, Environmental Science, Renewable Energy, Sustainable Development.)
Demonstrate a strong understanding and interest in Africa’s Climate adaptation needs, with a solid understanding of the challenges and opportunities specific to Africa on climate adaptation.
Ability to conduct thorough research, analyse data and synthesise complex information into clear, actionable insights.
Proficient in both written and verbal communication, capable of crafting compelling messages and engaging with diverse audiences.
Understanding of and sensitivity to the diverse cultural, political and economic contexts within Africa.
Ability to develop strategic plans, set goals and identify the necessary steps to achieve campaign objectives.
Skilled in building and maintaining relationships with a variety of stakeholders.
Demonstrable commitment to social and environmental justice.
Flexibility to adapt to changing situations and the resilience to overcome challenges in dynamic and sometimes uncertain environments.
Ability to work effectively in a team, fostering collaboration and building consensus among diverse groups.
