Responsibilities
The incumbent will be responsible for conducting research at the intersection of environment, climate change and health. He/she will support innovative research studies, publish scholarly work, and seek opportunities to actively build their capacity within the programme. Specifically, the incumbent will:
Design and undertake a research-based scholarly project for the duration of the fellowship to advance understanding in climate and health.
Contribute to the development and implementation of ongoing research projects with the opportunity to build capacity in designing experiments, novel data collection approaches and advanced data analysis.
Publish at least one manuscript in a reputable journal as lead author.
Actively contribute to publications in peer-reviewed journals, present at conferences, and participate in academic discussion to disseminate research.
Contribute to capacity development of junior researchers, research staff and students.
Requirements
Applicants should:
hold a PhD (recently completed) in Population/Public/Global/International Health (all with a focus on Environmental Health) or Environmental Health or Climate Change or any closely related field.
have a BA and/or MSc in any of the above or closely related fields.
have demonstrable ability to conduct independent/supportive research, formulate hypotheses, design experiments and critically analyze data
be capable of addressing complex scientific or academic challenges within the specified field of study
possess excellent written and verbal communication skills
have experience in mentorship or teaching
have working knowledge of specific methodologies, tools, software or laboratory techniques relevant to the specific research area.
