Pharmaceutical Technologist Renal Nurse

Southrift Hospital is looking for a professional, goal oriented, organized, reliable and self-driven Pharmaceutical Technologist to join our multidisciplinary team. The successful candidate will be responsible to ensure an outstanding patient experience while providing the highest quality Pharmacy services.

Job Description:

Receiving and processing prescriptions and dispensing medications as provided by the Southrift Hospital Pharmacy Protocols.
Adhere to good dispensing practice guidelines: Conduct checks to prevent medication errors by checking and verifying the prescription/ treatment sheets for patient identification, right dosages, the right drug, and legibility, and providing clear instructions and patient counselling.
Preparation of extemporaneous preparations maintaining high standards of quality.
Collaborate with the clinical team to ensure the safe and rational use of drugs and pharmaceutical products
Ensure accuracy in maintenance and documentation of DDA (Dangerous Drugs Act) regulated medications with weekly reconciliation.
Ensure good stock management at the pharmacy, following set reorder levels on the shelves. Carry out daily counts and spot counts and restock the pharmacy unit by making timely requisitions and transfers from the main medical supplies store.
Participating in monthly stock takes in alignment with policy guidelines.
Check that shortexpiry and expired items are replaced, withdraw from shelves and departments, quarantine all expired drugs and documents for disposal as per PPB regulations
Record fridge and room temperatures to maintain vigilance over drug storage conditions.
Ensure client satisfaction through highquality service, effective communication, prompt feedback, and escalation of any unresolved issues to the relevant person for followup.
Always maintain patient privacy and confidentiality.
Adhere to Southrift Hospital governance policies and procedures.
Participate in Continuous training and development activities to ensure uptodate clinical knowledge.
Any other duty as assigned by your immediate supervisor.

Academic and Professional Qualifications:

Diploma in Pharmaceutical Technologist.
Holder of valid practicing license.
Be enrolled with the Pharmacy and Poisons Board of Kenya.
Minimum of one (1) year experience, preferably in a private hospital setup.
Proficiency in computer application skills
Great team player who can collaborate with other team members to offer the best outcomes to the patient
Commitment to providing high quality care and excellence.
Excellent oral and written communication skills in English & Kiswahili.
Ability to work under minimum supervision.
