Main Duties
Accurate and timely posting of all pharmacy computer transactions for billing purposes
Carry out timely ordering for stock replenishment to the pharmacy store to maintain optimal stock levels
Compounding, re-packaging and dilutions of drugs according to laid down guidelines
Provide drug information to patients, doctors, nurses and other medical staff
Participates in regular drug expiry monitoring in the pharmacy to identify and document items with expiry of less than six (6) months
Liaises with user departments to ensure adequate stocking and proper storage of emergency drugs and intravenous infusions and minimize losses due to expiries and damages
Participate in quarterly stock take exercise and ensure timely explanation of stock variances
Participates in quality management system activities including documentation, analysis and reporting for continued improvement of services
Training pharmaceutical technologist interns
Entering prescriptions orders into the computer and making labels appropriately
Document medication incidents and take measures to minimize them
Document adverse drug reactions
Receiving drugs and verifying against the stock transfer printout
Shelving items appropriately
Required Qualifications for the Position
Academic – Diploma in Pharmacy
Professional – Enrolled with Pharmacy and Poisons Board and current practice license
Experience – 2 years in a similar position post internship
Work Related skills- Competence in clinical skills
Good planning and organizational skills
