People and Impact Lead

Job Description
We are seeking a People and Impact Manager with an entrepreneurial mindset to join our global impact team to expand and scale workforce development initiatives. This position reports to both the Managing Director, Africa and the Head of Global Impact, and holds both strategic and tactical roles in guiding the HR in the day-to-day operations as well as HR related projects. This position will also support the Social Impact team with expanding and scaling workforce development initiatives.
What you will do
People Operations Management

Lead and elevate the local HR team members through coaching, problem solving and making tough decisions that affect DDD’s business.
Coordinate with the senior management and teams on implementing professional development program
Lead culture initiatives and coordinate with senior management and teams on their implementation
Support the management team in decision making by developing and managing insightful and meaningful reports/statistics.
Establish and oversee the HR budget
Review and guide the team on HR processes improvement to support business effectiveness

Impact Management

Team formation

Plan and lead the execution to deliver results of the existing and new impact program
Hire, train and set up team members necessary to support the program.

Program Alumni

Manage activities to maintain and improve DDD alumni network.

Reporting

Produce periodical progress and on-demand report to senior management team.
Be in charge of reports to donor/impact investors.
Participate in semi-annual donor/investor conference calls

Public Relations

Represent and promote DDD to the public including government officials, donors, partners and employers.
Organize different events to promote and increase public awareness of DDD

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Strategic Management or related field required
7+ years’ work experience- 3 of which should be in design and implementation of impact management
Familiarity with the social impact sector- especially working with the youth.
4+ years’ experience in forming and managing teams
Prior experience of working with charities or social businesses will be an added advantage
A business acumen with a strategic ability
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Ability to influence and engage others to ensure cross-functional delivery happens
A desire & willingness to take on new challenges & learn new skills
