Pastoral Matron Senior School Chaplain

Reporting to the House Parent in the respective Boarding House, the Pastoral Matron will be expected to take care of pupils, with particular responsibility for their health and their mental and emotional well-being. They will also be responsible for the supervision of pupil organisation within the dorm. They will be expected to liaise with the Day Matron and the House Parents in matters related to health and safety.
Person Specification

There are some things that are essential to working with us. The successful candidate will need to be able to support the School’s aims and Christian ethos. They will have attained a certificate in their high school education or its equivalent, coupled with at least one year experience as a Matron in a boarding school. The successful candidate will be expected to have a good command of the English language, both spoken and written. They will also need basic IT skills.
Beyond that, we want to have staff who love working as part of a team; who are first-class communicators and who are passionate about, and committed to, the role and pupils in their care; who are creative and diligent; who are adaptable, energetic and resilient.

Remuneration
There is a reasonable overall remuneration package as detailed below

Salary: The successful applicant will be placed on a reasonable wage
Accommodation: suitable rent free accommodation within the boarding house will be provided as a taxable
Medical care: a comprehensive medical insurance scheme will be provided for the successful candidate.
Pension: The School operates a defined contribution pension scheme in which the employer and employee each contribute 6% of the monthly
Meals: these are provided during term time as a taxable
Facilities: extensive sports facilities are open to use by staff.

Hours of work and holiday entitlement
The role is full-time and includes working in the evening and at weekends as required. The successful applicant will be expected to take a full and active part in the boarding life of the school. S/He will also be expected to work during some of the holidays.
