Job Description
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Painter to join our team in Nairobi, Kenya. As a Painter, you will be responsible for preparing and painting various surfaces, maintaining the aesthetic appeal and overall luxury experience for guests. This role requires a combination of technical expertise, creativity, and a commitment to excellence.
Prepare surfaces for painting by cleaning, sanding, and applying primer as needed
Mix and match paint colors to achieve desired results
Apply paint using brushes, rollers, and sprayers with precision and efficiency
Perform touch-ups and repairs on existing painted surfaces
Maintain a clean and organized work area, ensuring proper care of tools and equipment
Collaborate with team members and other trades to coordinate work schedules and project timelines
Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations while working on job sites
Provide excellent customer service by communicating effectively with clients and addressing their concerns
Estimate paint quantities and materials needed for each project
Stay updated on new painting techniques and products to improve efficiency and quality
Complete projects within specified timeframes and budget constraints
Assist in training and mentoring junior painters as needed
Qualifications
Proven experience as a professional painter, with a strong portfolio of completed projects
In-depth knowledge of various painting techniques, paint types, and application methods
Excellent color matching skills and understanding of color theory
Proficiency in using painting tools and equipment, including brushes, rollers, and sprayers
Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and work orders
Excellent time management and organizational skills
Physical stamina and ability to work at heights, climb ladders, and lift heavy equipment
Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective teamwork and client interactions
Flexibility to adapt to changing project requirements and work schedules
Basic math skills for calculating paint quantities and measuring surfaces
Knowledge of safety procedures and willingness to comply with all safety regulations
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Problem-solving skills to address unexpected issues that may arise during projects
