Duties & Responsibilities:
Diagnosis of orofacial diseases/conditions, prescribe appropriate investigations and formulate treatment plans.
Performing specific dental procedures in areas that include conservative and restorative dentistry, aesthetic dentistry, prosthetic rehabilitation, endodontics, minor oral surgery and orthodontics.
Supervision, training and mentorship of dental officers, dental interns, dental assistants and students.
Undertaking call duties to review and manage patients with urgent/emergency conditions.
Participating in the multidisciplinary management of patients.
Conducting age assessment and writing dental reports.
Undertaking medico-legal duties such as completing insurance dental/medical reports.
Conducting oral health community outreaches/camps.
Taking part in the formulation and implementation of the departmental annual work plans.
Formulate, review and implement dental policies, standards, guidelines and protocols.
Awareness creation and promotion of preventive dentistry.
Conduct research to advance dental sciences and provide solutions to existing problem areas.
Qualifications & Requirements
Bachelor of Dental Surgery or its equivalent
Master’s degree in Paediatric dentistry
Practicing license from the Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentist Council
A minimum of 3 years’ experience in a similar position
