Officer Sr., Grants Business

About This Role

The Officer Sr., Grants Business will contribute to ChildFund International’s overall grant acquisition and management strategy and provide key support in financial analysis, budget development, and grant financial reporting. This includes participation in work teams during proposal preparation, and inputs into the process of grants compliance and administration. The Officer Sr., Grants Business is also expected to help interpret and understand the financial part of donor policies, procedures and regulations, budgeting and reporting requirements. Officer Sr., Grants Business will report to the Regional Director and mainly focused on supporting grant acquisition and management in the respective region. Depending on needs, the Officer Sr., Grants Business could be deployed to support countries in other regions as well. The Officer Sr., Grants Business will also maintain working relationships with the Global Finance as well as the Global Business Development and Grant Management Teams.

Primary Responsibilities

Participate on proposal development teams with direct responsibility for the development of project and proposal budgets in the process of acquiring grants and Non-Sponsorship Projects (NSPs).
Analyze and advise country teams on donor requirements for budgets and financial reports and on efficient reporting systems.
Provide inputs into the cost analysis of the Country Office in order to explore opportunities for cost recovery from grants for shared program and operational costs.
Contribute to compiling the final financial report and financial close-out of major grant projects.
Advise country and proposal development teams on donor regulations governing procurement, staff recruitment, travel, and other operational aspects and monitor compliance.
Participate in reviews of spending vs. budget and progress towards program objectives.
Provide advice on the need for adjustments and extensions as it relates to grant budget management,
Based on the global monthly opportunity tracker, provide CO-specific analysis of progress against annual acquisition (LoA) targets.
Contribute to and participate in evaluations of acquisition processes and win/loss analysis.

Required Experience And Education

Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or equivalent in relevant area required. Equivalent relevant work experience may be acceptable in lieu of degree.
Certification from a reputable service provider in Financial Project Management is an advantage.
At least 3 years of experience in grants acquisition and management, with focus on financial analysis and compliance aspects.
Demonstrated knowledge of major donors’ requirements for budgets and financial reports, applicable local regulatory and legal requirements.
Demonstrated capability in understanding the various stages of the grant lifecycle including pre-award review, grant progress monitoring, and award closure.

Responsibilities
The Officer Sr., Grants Business can draw on the support and collaboration from global team members in the development of his/her responsibilities. Preferably these global team members provide input into recruitment, performance planning and evaluation. The primary global team members for this position will be:
