Occupational Safety and Health Officer

Responsibilities for the Occupational Safety and Health Officer Job
Conduct health and safety induction practice, safety inspection/audit on workplaces, tools and behavior
Initiate and lead workplace risk and environmental aspect assessments, safety meetings and other safety and health related tasks
Ensure all workplace hazards are reported and corrective action taken on time
To organize and carry accident, dangerous occurrence and near miss investigation and produce regular reports detailing underlying causes, conclusions and recommendations to prevent a recurrence
Ensure the Company implements systems that fully comply with the Occupational Health and Safety Act
To improve safety performance on continual basis
To educate & train staff on how to handle/ deal adverse situations
To monitor & maintain safety gear & equipment’s
To create safe work environment by hazard identification & its control, to ensure 100% occupational health and safety issues
Occupational Safety and Health Officer Job Qualifications
A relevant degree from a recognized university
A minimum of 3 years’ experience being responsible for health and safety matters
Have a deep understanding of the OSHA Act
