Summary
The nurse will assist in the daily running of the clinic to ensure patients get quality and timely care in line with AHF and Kenya government standards. May act as a team leader within the scope of the practice guidelines as dictated by the scope of practice of Nurses.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
Assist and work together in support of all the CCC activities with the clinical staff.
Integration of healthcare services to CCC target areas- Prevention of Mother to Child – PMTCT, family planning, Cervical Cancer screening, Child Welfare Clinic, etc
Provides and assists with the clinical management of patients including ARV treatment preparation, ARV initiation, patient triaging, adherence counselling, OI screening, perform phlebotomy procedures, initiates intravenous infusions, provides patient and family education
Administers medication as ordered within the scope of practice of the licensee.
Updates patient records and medication administration according to protocol.
Support of the community component of program including outreaches and mobilization for care and support.
Organize follow up of clients who have defaulted treatment and care.
Lead and participate in CME sessions
Support the formation and management patient support groups at the CCC.
Exercises appropriate judgment and decision-making skills.
Ensures the maintenance of patient confidentiality
May supervise care given by other cadres including HTS counsellors, ART Aides, etc
Attend and participate in team conferences as requested.
May act as a team leader to assist with the provision and supervision of patient care
Other duties as may be assigned by the supervisor.

Education And/or Experience
Diploma in Nursing from a recognized medical training college with 3-5 years of working experience in clinical setting including care of HIV/AIDS clients
Registration by the nursing council of Kenya with a valid practice license.
