OVERALL RESPONSIBILITY
Reporting to ICT Team Lead – Hardware and Support, the successful candidate will be is responsible for the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of structured cabling systems, including fiber optic and copper cabling. The role ensures proper cable routing, termination, testing, and documentation to support a reliable IT network infrastructure.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Install, terminate, and test Cat6, Cat6a, and fiber optic cables,
Set up and maintain network racks, patch panels, and cable trays.
Label and document cable routes to ensure proper identification
Diagnose and repair network connectivity issues related to cabling.
Perform cable testing using tools such as Fluke testers and OTDRs.
Replace damaged cables, connectors, or terminations as needed.
Adhere to safety regulations such as OSHA
Ensure proper cable management to avoid hazards and maintain a professional setup.
Work in coordination with ICT and facility teams to meet project timelines.
Maintain network diagrams and cable labeling records.
Provide reports on cabling projects, issues, and completed tasks.
Assist in planning network expansion and infrastructure upgrades
The requirements
Diploma/Certificate in ICT, Telecommunications.
1-3 years of experience in network cabling or related field.
Experience working in data centers, office buildings, or industrial environments.
Knowledge of structured cabling standards and best practices.
Experience with fiber optic and copper cabling installation and maintenance.
Ability to read network schematics and floor plans.
