Main Purpose
The Network Administrator will be responsible troubleshooting network performance issues, analysing network traffic and performance and other aspects of network architecture.
Key Responsibilities
Responsible for maintaining Network hardware architecture and inventory, including procurement and specifications.
Assist in the design, implementation and maintenance of systems, programs, hardware, and software through ensuring appropriate networks.
Work with management and other key IT stakeholders to build and implement network security strategies.
Perform complex troubleshooting, backup, archiving, and disaster recovery.
Effectively manage and control the Data Centres
Provide onsite and remote Network administration, setup, and configuration and maintenance.
Responsible for repairing Network devices, both internally and via vendor support.
Monitor network usage.
Maintenance and administration of the Network infrastructure and related applications.
Assists in ensuring IT Network infrastructure and related applications are adequately configured to meet SLAs with the business.
Assists in the network support while enforcing network security within the entire infrastructure.
Enforcement of all security measures within the LAN and WAN infrastructure.
Administer LAN/WAN security, antivirus, and spam control measures.
Enforcement of all network policies and procedures
Assist in providing firewall administration.
Proactively manage the LAN/WAN network and enforce strong recovery policies to ensure 99.99% availability.
Troubleshoot network architecture and making recommendations for system fixes and enhancements.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in computer science or information technology or any related field
Relevant ICT certification:
Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) – A must
Checkpoint Certified Security Administrator (CCSA)
Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP)
Cloud certification
Experience
At least 5 years practical experience in providing network administration in a large ICT enabled environment.
