Job Purpose:
The Multimedia and Animation Specialist will play a pivotal role in supporting and advancing our university-level animation program. This position is central to creating engaging educational, and transformative animation projects that align with our objectives to educate and innovate from a biblical perspective.
Main Responsibilities:
Actively support the collaboration initiate by aiding the identified team (including students) in contributing to the development of high-quality animations.
Conceptualize and design characters, scenes, and backgrounds, and develop storyboards that bring ideas to life.
Ensure the technical execution of animations, including timing, pacing, and merging layers to create cohesive and impactful narratives.
Work closely with students, instructor and other creative professionals to ensure projects are completed to the highest standards and aign with established objectives.
Design and produce multimedia elements for online and distance learning modules, making complex concepts accessible and engaging.
Oversee the Animation and Multimedia Lab, including equipment, software, and training materials to ensure a productive learning environment whilst ensuring
the safekeeping ad optimal use of animation equipment and software, adhering to the guidelines outlined in the MOU.
Research industry trends and developments and learn new applications to keep the projects up to date.
Any other duties as may be assigned from time to time by the supervisor in furtherance of the University objectives.
Requirements: Qualifications and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in animation, film production, fine arts, graphic design, or related field.
Proven experience in animation, character design, and multimedia content creation.
Must have a mastery of animation software such as Adobe After Effects, Autodesk Maya, Cinema 4D, Blender, or Toon Boom Harmony.
Must be proficient in Industry-standard design software like the Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) or other graphic design tools.
Working experience with a Christian-based media house or University will be an added advantage.
Skills and Abilities:
Excellent conceptual and creative abilities, a knack for storytelling through animation.
Proficient in leading animation software and technologies, with a strong portfolio demonstrating skills in 3D animation and character design.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, capable of mentoring students and working collaboratively with a diverse team.
Organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
Commitment to continuous learning and staying updated with the latest animation techniques and technologies.
