Monitoring and Evaluation Specialist Deputy Chief of Party – Feed the Future Livestock Market Systems Activity

Job Description
LWR is currently recruiting a Monitoring and Evaluation Specialist for an anticipated Feed the Future Livestock Market Systems Activity in Kenya funded by USAID. The Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) Specialist will guide the technical direction of the M&E approach and strategy. The M&E Specialist will be responsible for high-level strategies for data quality assessment, use, and learning as well as operationalization of the project’s M&E systems.
Duties:
Manage the project’s monitoring and evaluation activities. This will include guiding the technical direction of the M&E approach and strategy; as well as oversee and coordinate work related to monitoring and evaluation activities of the project.
Understand donor requirements and ensure required data for donor reporting is available.
Support the development and implementation of ICT-enabled M&E system.
Oversee baseline, mid-term, and final evaluation consultants.
Qualifications:
Deep commitment to LWR’s core values and ability to model those values in relationships with colleagues and partners.
Bachelor’s degree (Masters preferable) in evaluation, public policy, quantitative economics, and/or related field is required.
Minimum of seven (7) years of progressive professional experience in monitoring and evaluation of international development projects
Demonstrated experience using a mix of informational sources and research methods to analyze project progress, communicate findings to a range of external and internal stakeholders, and apply learning to work planning.
Experience in West Africa region is highly desirable.
Experience on agriculture-related projects is highly desirable.
Knowledge of different M&E tools, approaches, and methods in addition to experience working with grant making organizations.
Working experience in training, coaching and mentoring teams in monitoring-related techniques and methods.
Fluency in spoken and written English is required.
