Modern Trade Manager – 2 Positions

JOB PURPOSE
We are looking for Two (2) Modern Trade Managers to join our consumer Health Division at Shalina Healthcare Kenya Limited. They will be critical in managing and expanding the company’s presence within modern retail outlets. As the primary point of contact between Shalina Healthcare (K) Ltd and modern trade partners, they will also be responsible for fostering relationships with key decision-makers, optimizing product visibility, and driving sales growth in modern trade channels.
KEY ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

 Build and maintain strong relationships with key accounts in modern trade, including supermarkets, hypermarkets, and large retail chains.
 Develop and execute sales strategies to listing consumer health products, achieve revenue and market share objectives in modern trade channels.
 Collaborate with the sales team and management to align strategies with overall company goals.
 Ensure optimal product placement on shelves to maximize visibility and accessibility.
 Coordinate with merchandising teams to implement attractive product displays.
 Plan and execute promotions and marketing campaigns within modern trade channels.
 Negotiate promotional agreements and secure additional shelf space for featured products.
 Analyze sales data and market trends to identify opportunities for growth.
 Provide insights and recommendations to enhance product performance and market competitiveness.
 Work closely with demand planning and supply chain teams to ensure adequate stock levels to meet demand.
 Forecast sales and monitor inventory turnover to prevent stockouts or overstock situations.
 Conduct training sessions for modern trade staff on product knowledge, promotions, and selling techniques.
 Provide ongoing support to ensure retail staff is well-informed and motivated to sell the company’s products.

QUALIFICATION AND SKILLS

 Bachelor’s degree/ Diploma in business, sales & marketing, or any other related field.
 At least 5 years’ experience in modern trade sales within the FMCG industry.
Strong understanding of modern trade dynamics, including negotiation processes and promotional activities.
 Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
 Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret sales data and market trends.
 Results-driven with a track record of achieving and exceeding sales targets.
 Familiarity with trade marketing strategies and merchandising principles.
 Proficient in using MS Office applications with a great understanding of sales software.
