Key responsibilities:
Conduct testing including Sterility tests; Bioburden tests; Efficacy tests; Bacterial Endotoxin tests; Identification of Microorganisms and Sensitivity tests.
Develop, write and maintain Standard Operating Procedures and Work Instructions for the laboratory.
Manage samples including receiving; registration; storage and disposal according to approved laboratory procedures.
Manage laboratory equipment including operation, cleaning, calibration and maintenance.
Manage storage of reference microorganisms to ensure they remain viable for analysis.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date records.
Maintain general cleanliness of the laboratory following good housekeeping practices.
Maintain inventory of laboratory consumables including PPEs, reagents, media, equipment spare parts and glassware for accountability.
Participate in self-inspections for continuous improvement.
Ensure compliance to safety and regulatory requirements while working under Good Laboratory Practices (GLP).
Job requirements:
Bachelor’s Degree in Microbiology, Biotechnology or any other related course
At least 5 years’ hands-on experience in a Microbiology testing laboratory
Experience in food-borne pathogen testing or microbiology testing in the food and beverage industry is an added advantage
Experience working in an ISO 17025:2017 accredited laboratory is desirable
