Role Summary:
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Female Medical Psychologist to join our dynamic multidisciplinary team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing mental health assessments, therapeutic interventions, and psychological care for women residing at the centre. This position requires a commitment to fostering a safe, supportive, and therapeutic environment for patients undergoing treatment for addiction, trauma, and psychiatric disorders.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct comprehensive psychological assessments and develop individualized treatment plans.
Deliver evidence-based therapies such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), and trauma-informed care.
Provide continuous psychological support throughout the recovery process, focusing on addiction, mental health disorders, and co-occurring conditions.
Collaborate with psychiatrists, medical professionals, and the wider therapeutic team to ensure integrated care.
Facilitate group therapy sessions and psychoeducation workshops tailored to women’s recovery needs.
Maintain accurate and timely documentation, including patient progress notes and treatment plans.
Offer crisis intervention and emotional support when necessary.
Engage in discharge planning and provide recommendations for aftercare support.
Qualifications and Experience:
Degree in Medical psychology from an accredited institution
Valid certification and licensure as a psychologist in Kenya.
Minimum of 2 years of experience in a clinical setting, preferably within addiction, mental health, or trauma recovery environments.
Strong understanding of gender-specific issues related to women’s mental health, substance abuse, and trauma.
Experience working in a residential or inpatient rehabilitation facility is an advantage.
Proficiency in evidence-based therapeutic techniques, with a preference for experience in CBT, DBT, and trauma-focused therapies.
