Media and Narratives Officer

Essential:

Demonstrably solid news judgement and excellent written and verbal communications skills; proven track record in journalism or media-related experience; knowledge of international and/or regional media;
Demonstrable competence and enthusiasm for delivering content across all media tools, channels, and platforms;
Drive to achieve maximum coverage coupled with understanding and appreciation for good collaborative working processes;
Ability to develop overarching media and social media strategies and messaging for key confederation-wide projects.
Ability to articulate complex issues, especially economic issues, in an accessible manner, with flair and precision;
Ability to liaise with a wide range of people, both internally and externally and at many levels, with credibility, tact and diplomacy;
Excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills with ability to lead, influence and motivate others;
Effective negotiation abilities and informal leadership skills in a multi-stakeholder, multi-cultural, network environment;
Understanding of media-related reputation risk and mitigation/management;
Research, monitoring and evaluation skills;
Excellent spoken and written English.

Desirable:

Fluency in other languages, especially French, Spanish, Portuguese or Arabic.
Experience in social media.
Experience filming and/or editing video content.
