Mechanic – Motor vehicle Courier Supervisor – Cross Border & Warehousing Customer Service Agent Technician – Fire Services Branch Supervisors (Kericho & Bungoma)

Reporting to the Fleet Manager, the mechanic will specialize in diagnosis, servicing, repairing of motor vehicles and conduct routine maintenance checks, carry out unit overhauls and electrical repairs on the motor vehicles. In addition, build and assemble machines or mechanical components according to requirements; Inspect machines, engines, transmissions and run diagnostic tests to discover functionality issues.
Responsibilities:

Evaluate mechanical problems in vehicles and assist senior/ lead mechanics complete major repairs
Perform minor, medium and major mechanical services and repairs; undertake welding and minor body work
Service vehicles according to an established preventive maintenance schedule; rotate and balance tires; change oil and filters; lubricate vehicle parts; inspect and replace hoses, belts, mirrors, lamps; and maintain all fluid levels
Inspect vehicles and evaluate condition of systems, equipment, accessories, and lights; service as needed
Demonstrate process of preventive maintenance and visual inspections to mechanic helpers
Perform preventive maintenance; including bleeding of air tanks, on shop equipment according to established schedules
Undertake unit overhauls for engines, gearboxes, differentials, steering box, brake boosters and electrical and electronic systems troubleshooting
Operate tools, equipment, and machinery according to prescribed safety procedures
Follow established safety procedures and techniques to perform job duties including lifting, climbing, correct unsafe conditions in the work area and report any conditions that are hazardous to the supervisor
Maintain accurate records of time and materials required to perform repairs and service
Advise on any preventative maintenance that may be required on the motor vehicles to avoid any future breakdown and downtime; maintain accurate, updated records of preventive maintenance

Knowledge and Qualifications

Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education
Technical Grade Test
Proven experience as Mechanic with excellent knowledge of engines, machinery and hydraulic, electrical and other systems and their components
Aptitude in using various hand tools and precision measurement tools.
Ability to follow established procedures and practices and read instruction, blueprints/ schematics
A strong commitment to all health and safety guidelines
Effective communication skills and problem-solving ability
Good physical strength and stamina.

Experience

Minimum of 5 years experience and above in a high traffic Workshop.

Knowledge in engines, machinery, hydraulic and electrical systems
