Market Managers – Tourism

A dedicated team of travel experts specializes in offering clients personalized services and exceptional products, including private guided tours, self-drive adventures, FIT arrangements, and group travel experiences. They pride ourselves in building strong human-to-human business partnerships, supported by robust systems and processes, and providing expert insights into unique tour and safari destinations.

We are looking for dynamic team of Market Managers to join our versatile team in Nairobi, Kenya handling the following markets:

SWAG (Switzerland, Austria, Germany) + Benelux;
Americas + CEE;
UK and the rest of Europe and
Nordics, Australia, New Zealand, Japan and Asia.

This is an integral business development role that augments the various market channels initiatives to drive revenues and account management. Successful candidates shall be expected to maintain an active relationship with clients, agents and suppliers while maximizing sales and revenue generation at the same time actively source new global business. The candidates must exercise considerable initiative and independent judgment in developing tourism events, marketing strategies/plans, advertising and digital marketing.

Position works with various administrative, reservations, operations and sales on activations, trade shows, budgets, as well as projects and other tourism activities

 Specific Responsibilities:

Lead conversion from various marketing channels and customer touch points
Creative development of packages and itineraries to suit the different markets
Develop and implement strategic direction for client accounts
Create product differentiation to clients within the same markets
Sourcing of new product and updating clients
Serve as an integral part of the Reservations and operations teams to achieve growth in the markets.
Negotiate complimentary or reduced services from suppliers for Educational or Fam trips.
Keeping clients updated on new products, client specific products and market trends.
Build strong relationships with the clients and stakeholders in the markets.
Negotiation of special rates, value add, terms and conditions specific to the various markets, and achieve best possible market rates.
Contracting of market and client specific rates
Maintain close relationships with suppliers.
Attend relevant events/ FAMS/media opportunities and workshops to constantly improve product knowledge.
Integrate and execute strategy in specialized areas such as social media strategy, earned media and proactive media pitching, partnership development, influencer marketing, travel trade strategy and engagement in the respective markets

 

Minimum requirements

Bachelor’s Degree/Diploma in Business Management, Marketing and Sales 
A minimum of 3 years’ sales, marketing, or hospitality industry sales experience
Knowledge of Marketing and Destination Management
Proven track record of successful sales and account management
Proven problem-solving skills.
Excellent aptitude for professionalism, organization, attention to detail, responsiveness, and follow-through.
Excellent written and verbal communications skills.
Technical proficiency with Microsoft Office, customer relationship management software, LinkedIn, and social media.
Applicants should be familiar with excel, budgeting, and have good time management skills
Extensive travel / evening & weekend hours required.
