The Opportunity
Roche Diagnostics in Nairobi is seeking a Market Access Lead to develop and execute an effective market access strategy for the assigned product portfolio, incorporating market intelligence and trend. Collaborate with external partners and stakeholders to form strategic alliances that maximize market penetration.
Key Challenges
Market Analysis and Access Strategy Development

Develop a regional market access plan that aligns with local business goals and the Global Market Access strategy.
Explore innovative access solutions through local research, testing, expert engagement, and piloting initiatives.
Stay updated on market trends, policies, and access barriers to proactively refine the market access strategy.

Communication and Strategy Implementation

Coordinate the distribution of targeted information to stakeholders, ensuring alignment and effective communication through suitable platforms.
Lead efforts to educate and train internal stakeholders on market access dynamics and health policy trends.
Ensure timely and clear communication of market access developments by gathering, drafting, and distributing relevant information.
Track the effectiveness of the market access plan and KPIs, gather stakeholder feedback, and make necessary adjustments.
Work closely with internal teams and external partners to develop and execute market access strategies, product commercialization plans, and provide guidance for product lifecycle management.

Stakeholder Management
Primary Contact and Liaison:

Act as the main point of contact between Roche Diagnostics and the international Roche group.
Handle market access topics and market/competitor trends for assigned products.
Receive and respond to inquiries promptly with accurate information.

Addressing Stakeholder Queries and Complaints:

Manage stakeholder queries and complaints related to market access.
Forward queries to relevant departments when necessary.
Resolve issues when possible and provide timely feedback to stakeholders.

Relationship Management:

Build and sustain relationships with key stakeholders such as payers, providers, patient advocacy groups, government agencies, and alternative funding partners.

Collaboration with Stakeholders:

Work with stakeholders to understand their needs and gather insights.
Address any barriers to product adoption and funding.

Engagement with Payers and Policymakers:

Engage effectively with payers and policymakers to secure or maximize access and reimbursement for Roche products.

Internal and External Communication:

Serve as a liaison to ensure effective communication and alignment of market access strategies between internal teams and external stakeholders.

Legal and Compliance 

To manage full compliance and support of the corporate culture and ethics of all market access activities by maintaining expertise, abiding with compliance requirements, managing compliance and communicating legal and compliance requirements at all times.

SHE 

 Comply with SHE rules, standards, and regulations set out by Group SHE as well as the local affiliate.
Participate and complete all assigned SHE training.

Who You Are as an Ideal Candidate 
Qualifications & experience

NQF 7/8 in relevant field (Pharma, Life Sciences degree)
4-6 years’ experience in field

You must have knowledge of:

Medical Device Regulatory Environment

In the absence of relevant qualifications, experience in the relevant field and at the relevant level will be considered
