DESCRIPTION OF JOB TASK AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Assists the Boat Captain in the movement and requirements of the vessel during operations.
Handles boat’s mooring line, fenders, and or towing line during towing, docking and undocking of vessel.
Assists Boat Captain in performing boat pre-operational check prior to underway operation and boat securing.
Checks navigation lights, first aid medical kit, firefighting and lifesaving equipment.
Maintains and secures mooring and anchor lines, fire extinguishers and boat cleanliness.
The incumbent performs scheduled maintenance and adheres to all industrial and afloat safety
procedures, directives and boating safety requirements at all times.
Provides briefing to patrons concerning boating safety and local regulations before getting underway as required by the Boat Captain.
Reports discrepancies and safety hazard immediately to the Boat Captain. Provides assistance to the customers in rigging lures into the fishing reel lines.
Provides look-out to the Boat Captain during poor visibility and or as required by the Boat Captain.
Assists patrons during fishing activity, i.e., fish gaffing, and whacking of caught fish prior to unhooking of lures for safety.
Stores fish aboard the vessel.
Advises patrons’ position while fishing to prevent lines caught by propellers.
Performs offloading of customer’s fish.
Performs checking of engine cooling systems while underway, performs boat cleaning, fueling and oil top-up prior and after the boat operations.
Perform other duties/tasks as required.
BASIC JOB QUALIFICATIONS: (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)
Must speak and write English language fluently and able to swim.
Must be trained in customer service, mission oriented and has the ability to deal with multi-national customer.
No physical handicap limiting functions aboard vessels and proficiency in small boat handling is required.
Must possess valid Driver’s License.
JOB SPECIFICATIONS: SPECIAL CERTIFICATIONS OR TRAINING
CPR/AED and First Aid Training.
Star Customer Service Training.
Be able to pass Final Basic Boat Crewmember (301) and Personnel Qualification Standards (PQS) test by Harbor Pilot.
EDUCATION:
Must be High School graduate, Nautical School graduate preferred.
EXPERIENCE:
One (1) year experience aboard vessel as deckhand.
Basic terms of the job offer.
Assignment Duration: 12 months. Renewal subject to performance and project status.
Base Monthly Salary: 48 hours per week minimum work requirement: $500.00 (based on 48 hr. work week requirement)
Working schedule: 48 hours per week (8 hours per day/6 days a week)
Payroll period: Monthly. Amount give take home.
Overtime: Work more than 8 hours per day or work performed on a rest day and/or holiday, will be paid as overtime at the base salary rate.
Accommodations: Housing, transportation, meals in-country, and laundry facilities are provided
Sick Leave: Employee will accrue 2.67 hours of sick leave for each full month of service, beginning with the completion of the first full month of Foreign Service employment.
Annual leave Up to 21 days paid at the end of each 12-month contract.
Travel will be provided by the employer to the employee’s home country.
