Duties for the Manuscript Writer Job
Write an interesting fictional young adult’s manuscript that is adequately proofread to make it easier for the editors to do their work.
Brainstorm ideas on the content of the book with other players in the company.
Have the ability to connect with the youth.
Travel across E. Africa marketing and selling books to the target market.
Write the book within the duration provided by the company, although written manuscripts that are not yet published may be considered for publication.
Work in harmony with other members of the company including editors, illustrators and marketers.
Manuscript Writer Job Qualifications
Show proof of ability to write fictional stories.
Have impeccable English writing skills.
Have worked in the publishing industry, therefore able to market and sell books to schools and colleges, bookstores, street vendors across E. Africa and especially in Kenya.
Be able to work with Microsoft 360 and other online applications of Google.
Must be proficient in both Kiswahili and English, other local languages are a plus but not necessary.
Be able to communicate on Skype and other online means like Imo, WhatsApp etc.
Knows how to use the computer and has access to the internet.
