Overall Responsibility: Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, the successful candidate will be responsible for setting the strategic direction, coordinating and supervising all functions and activities that will enhance patient safety and clinical quality to attain and maintain quality accreditation.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the implementation of quality and patient safety programs in compliance with the hospital quality program.
Provide a platform to actively communicate quality improvement and patient safety activities and knowledge throughout AKHK.
Provide overall guidance necessary to ensure that clinical services are provided in accordance with established standards.
Collaborate with all the relevant stakeholders, both internal and external, to ensure that AKHK meets all legal and regulatory requirements relevant to quality and patient safety along with promoting ethical and legal practices.
Provide support in development and review of Hospital wide policies to ensure compliance to quality standards of accreditation bodies.
Guide the interpretation and implementation of developed policies and procedures in the context of the quality and patient safety framework.
Evaluate and regulate policies according to international standards and best practices.
Responsible for implementation of AKHK Quality and Patient Safety Program and ensure that quality and patient safety audits are planned and conducted as per schedule in the light of AKHK Policies and JCIA standards.
Directs and supports the collection, measurement and presentation of data required for monitoring and improving quality and patient safety.
Monitor and ensure compliance for Institutional Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) related to Quality and Patient safety.
Review institutional accreditation and regulatory agencies survey/quality audit findings and support development of action plans to address non-compliance.
Participate in internal and external quality audits and share audit observations with leadership and the departments.
Leads programs the Hospital in conducting Root Cause Analysis for sentinel and adverse events.
Act as resource person for all managers particularly the service line business and nurse managers to discuss and work on the identified non-compliances during clinical audits.
Constantly be involved in the training and communication of quality and patient safety issues and standards /best practice in the institution .
Requirements
University Degree level preferably with master’s degree in Medical/Clinical
Health Management background would be an added advantage
Minimum of three years’ experience in direct clinical practice requirements
Have a strong experience and knowledge of clinical monitoring functions with knowledge of clinical research
Knowledge of Joint Commission International Patient Safety Standards
Excellent data analytics and presentation skills
Knowledge in quality improvement processes and methodologies.
Excellent communication, presentation and communication skills.
Ability to work with multidisciplinary teams
