The Manager Internal Auditor will be responsible for providing independent, objective assurance aimed at adding value and improving the operations of the Board. In addition, She/he will assist the Board accomplish its strategic objectives by effecting a systematic, disciplined approach to evaluate and improve the effectiveness of risk management, control and governance processes.
The Manager, Internal Audit will be reporting functionally to the Board Internal Audit Committee and Administratively to the Registrar/Chief Executive Officer.
Job Specifications
The duties and responsibilities of the officer will entail:-
Providing secretariat to the Audit committee
Formulating and coordinating the implementation of internal audit policies, strategies and plans;
Compiling and issuing internal audit reports;
Conducting special audits and investigations;
Setting up and implementing systems in accordance with auditing standards;
Testing the efficacy of the risk assessment systems;
Monitoring and reporting on the Boards overall risk profile;
Supporting various departments in risk profiling;
Reviewing correctness and accuracy of accounting reports;
Providing independent assurance for risk management processes on both design and operation; and
Assuring on; risk control effectiveness,efficiency, adequacy and risk management processes.
Person Specification
For appointment to this position, an officer must have:-
Have a minimum period of eight (8) years relevant work experience three of which should have been on Supervisory level;
Have Bachelors Degree in any of the following disciplines:Accounting, Finance or Business Administration (Finance and Accounting option)or relevant field from a recognized university;
Have Masters degree in any of the following disciplines: Business Administration (Accounting/Finance Option)or relevant field from a recognized institution;
Have passed Certified Public Accountant of Kenya (K) or its equivalent qualification;
Be a registered member of ICPAK in good standing and OR Be a Member of the Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA)/ Information Systems Audit and Control Association (ISACA) in good standing;
Have a certificate in a management course lasting not less than four (4) weeks from a recognized institution;
Proficient in information communication systems & applications;
Demonstrated professional competence in work performance and results;and
Fulfill the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution.

The Manager, Internal Audit will serve on Permanent and Pensionable Terms of Service with an attractive and competitive compensation and benefits package.

Clearance certificate from a Credit Reference Bureau (CRB);
Clearance from the Ethics and Anti Corruption Commission.
