Manager – Credit and Recoveries

The Bank is seeking to recruit a dynamic, creative, self-driven and highly motivated experienced professional with a good knowledge ofdebtrecoveries.MANAGER -CREDIT & RECOVERIES
The incumbent will be responsible in overseeing debt monitoring and management.REPORTING TO: HEAD OF CREDIT RISK & LEGALKey
Responsibilities

To provide effective leadership to the debt recovery staff and manage all aspects in the entire bank in Retail & SME Banking and Corporate Banking & Ex-staff accounts in order to reduce the PAR for non performing loans and advances and provide high quality services within the agreed service levels.
Develop and implement policies and procedures for recovery of all advance products.
To monitor all slow moving accounts and ensure that they do not drop into NPL.
Undertake daily review of all Normal & Watch accounts to ensure that the risk classification is consistent with the stipulations of the Bank’s Credit Policy and CBK Prudential Guidelines and action is taken on the those accounts that are showing signs of deterioration. This is to done through system reports
Ensure all demands and statutory notices are issued by relevant units once the loans/advance falls into arrears.
Monitor loan & asset finance installments with a view to ensuring that arrears are redressed without any undue delay.
On a daily basis review expired TODs and pursue with RMs for adjustments while escalating nonpaymentfor customers to regularize the accounts.
Recoveries of corporate, SME, Retail, Diaspora advances
Ensure that the approved provisions are passed correctly.
Make client visit and make call report for various customers whoseloan/ODs are in defaults.
On a weekly basis review all arrears reports and follow up with RMs to ensure that they are paid without any delay and promptlyescalating problematic accounts.

Minimum Qualifications, Knowledge and Experience

University degreein Business related fieldsfrom a recognized institution.
Professional qualification in Banking, Finance or Accountingis an added advantage.
More than 5 years banking experienceandat least 4 must be in DRU.
Have a good network in credit risk & legal within the banking industry.
Knowledge of Prudential Guidelines in particular on classification of advances.
Skills in leadership; ability to provide leadership that motivates staff to maximize their productivity and retention.
Knowledge of all lending products and the level of complexity inherent in those products.
Ability to analyze all non-performing proposition and make sound recommendation/decision
