THE ROLE
As Project Manager, you will be responsible for advising clients and managing RBF projects from beginning to end. You will coach clients through difficult yet important adaptations of their practices, coordinate the project team to deliver high-quality, socially impactful work, establish and monitor work-plans, and be accountable for the results of projects. You will be challenged to balance and strategize around the triple constraints of quality, time, and budget in our project work.0
The Project Manager will be an integral part of Instiglio’s leadership, advising clients on important decisions and helping Instiglio as an organization to make smart and effective decisions on growth, strategy, and sustainability. With the high-level support of the junior partners and implementation support of the project teams, you will be guiding the day-to-day project responsibilities as well as strategizing the vision to reach short- and long-term project goals. As Project Manager, you will also be an ambassador for Instiglio’s mission and work globally. Tasks may include:

Developing and managing project scope and budget. Adjusting and course-correcting to meet execution needs.
Leading the day-to-day workplan, overseeing the -project team to ensure that we reach short- and long-term targets.
Building strong relationships with private and public sector organizations and manage multi-stakeholder partnerships.
Monitoring and understanding all project details, including complex technical concepts.
Designing and delegating activities and tasks to achieve the most effective results within the team.
Communicating complex concepts in an approachable manner for diverse stakeholders.
Mastering all elements of Results-Based Financign advisory work to effectively advise technical decisions in projects.
Actively improving our Results-Based Financing services and our delivery approaches.
Coordinating and motivating project teams and assign tasks and responsibilities based on individual strengths.

Required qualifications

6+ years of relevant work experience in international development and/or management consulting
BA in economics, development economics, statistics, or related fields.
Demonstrated success in advising the public sector in Africa
Deep familiarity with international development policy issues
Proven record of high performance and substantial achievements in your past positions
Demonstrated leadership in a team and ability to create opportunities for others
Reliable and effective in managing, structuring, and overseeing complex and fast-paced projects
Exceptional analytical and quantitative problem-solving skills
Skilled at communicating complex ideas effectively in writing and speech
Excellent client management and engagement skills
Willingness to travel for extended periods of time

Preferred qualifications

Master’s degree in economics, international development or related fields.
Experience engaging with government and government agencies in Kenya.
Knowledge of Results-Based financing mechanisms and/or experience related to the field.
Deep sector expertise in health, education, or poverty alleviation
Motivation to self-start and take full ownership over work.
