About the Client:

Our client is a leading innovative construction solutions provider in East Africa who has a proven track record of performance driven by solid knowledge and experience in the construction industry and is seeking to recruit a dedicated Maintenance Manager to oversee all aspects of maintenance operations at their company.

Key Responsibilities and Duties

Develop and maintain a comprehensive maintenance schedule for all equipment and machinery.
Coordinate with production and other departments to minimize downtime and optimize maintenance activities.
Regularly inspect the facility to identify areas requiring maintenance or repairs.
Lead and supervise maintenance staff, ensuring adherence to safety protocols and best practices.
Provide training and guidance to maintenance personnel to enhance their skills and efficiency.
Coordinate with external contractors for specialized maintenance services and repairs.
Ensure timely completion of maintenance projects within budgetary constraints
Act as a liaison between management and the maintenance team to address concerns and resolve issues promptly.
Communicate maintenance priorities and updates to relevant stakeholders.
Collaborate with management to develop the annual maintenance budget.
Monitor and control maintenance expenditures to ensure cost-effectiveness and alignment with financial goals.
Recruit, train, and onboard maintenance personnel to meet operational needs.
Negotiate contracts with vendors and suppliers for equipment, spare parts, and maintenance services.
Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including equipment performance data, maintenance logs, and compliance documentation.
Identify opportunities for process improvement and implement initiatives to enhance maintenance efficiency and effectiveness.
Ensure compliance with relevant safety regulations, environmental standards, and company policies in all maintenance activities.

Qualifications and Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
Proven experience 5plus years in maintenance management, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
Strong technical knowledge of mechanical systems, hydraulics, pneumatics, and electrical systems.
Demonstrated ability to develop and implement maintenance strategies to improve equipment reliability and minimize downtime.
Proficiency in maintenance management software and computer-aided design (CAD) tools.
Knowledge of safety regulations, environmental standards, and best practices in maintenance operations.
