The Role
The role involves providing logistical support to both local and regional customers through the following functions:
Sales Order Processing: Handling local and indent orders.
Order Follow-Up: Proactively following up with product companies to ensure timely deliveries.
Import/Export Documentation: Managing all customs documentation in compliance with guidelines.
Transport Coordination: Selecting the appropriate mode of transport for each shipment.
Sales Terms Management: Ensuring correct application of sales terms, Incoterms, and payment terms in all sales orders.
Contract Review Database: Keeping the contract review database updated.
Customs Coordination: Collaborating with customs agents for timely clearance.
Customs Duty Processing: Managing customs duty payments and maintaining an updated customs database.
Non-Core Purchases: Handling purchases for logistics service providers.
Customer Service: Providing feedback to both internal and external customers regarding their order status.
Finance Coordination: Working with finance to correct all EDI errors before month-end closure.
GIT Report Reconciliation: Ensuring timely reconciliations of GIT reports with finance.
Order Tracking: Monitoring order tracking and transit times for all shipments.
Reverse Logistics: Managing efficient reverse logistics for surplus returns.
Correspondence: Conducting general correspondence with product companies, agents, and customers.
Efficiency Improvements: Introducing new and relevant methods to enhance logistics efficiency.
Additional Duties: Performing any other tasks as assigned.
To succeed, you will need
Education
Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in logistics, supply chain, business administration, or a related field.
Additional Certifications (optional but beneficial): Certified Supply Chain Professional.
Experience
2 years of experience in logistics operations, demonstrating expertise in logistics processes is a plus.
Regulatory Knowledge
A clear understanding of relevant regulations to ensure full compliance with legal requirements.
Analytical Skills
Strong analytical skills with the ability to problem-solve, utilizing data and insights to drive informed decision-making and address logistics challenges.
Technical Skills
Proficiency in SAP (ERP) is an added advantage.
Communication Skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills for effective interaction with clients, suppliers, and internal stakeholders.
Organizational Skills
Strong organizational and time management skills to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
Attention to Detail
A keen eye for detail to ensure accuracy in documentation and processes.
Problem-Solving Skills
Ability to efficiently and effectively identify and resolve logistical issues to drive operational excellence in logistics.
