Logistics Manager For Genotyping

Job Details

The platform is seeking a Logistics Manager for Genotyping to optimize and streamline the flow of samples from a diverse range of breeding programs to genotyping laboratories, to assist with scheduling and forecasting with laboratories, and, to optimize the delivery of data back to the breeding programs. The successful candidate will need to find ways to drive down costs by identifying and implementing more efficient processes whilst ensuring timely delivery of high quality data to breeding programs.
This position is part of module 3 of EiB which works to ensure breeding programs targeting the developing world have access to low cost, high throughput molecular marker technologies. Module 3 seeks to enable the use of cost-effective molecular marker technologies to implement genomic selection, marker assisted selection and quality assurance processes with the ultimate purpose of increasing rates of genetic gain. To achieve this will require close management of complex logistical processes required to coordinate timely delivery of high volume, high quality genotypic data from multiple service providers to multiple customers.
By providing important outcomes to under-resourced peoples, CGIAR centers and partnering organizations help realize the founding mission of the CGIAR system by serving farmers and consumers in low-and-middle-income countries for greater impact on food and nutrition security, climate change adaptation and development. EiB will draw from innovations sourced from CGIAR centers, advanced research institutes, and the private sector to provide access to cutting-edge tools, services, and best practices while providing application-oriented training and practical advice.
The position will be based at Nairobi, Kenya. The position will involve international travel.
