Some of the Key Responsibilities
Conduct research on different laws and regulations in various geographical environments as may be required.
Draft and/or review legal documents as required by the company, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation.
Ensure that the organization complies with all the legal and regulatory requirements.
Handle any/all legal disputes that may arise with other corporations and/or individuals.
Provide advice on different regulations and legislations e.g. taxation, IP, Labor, etc.
Provide advice and help the organization identify, prevent, manage and handle any/all legal risks.
Represent and defend the company in any legal proceedings if any and handle the company’s legal correspondence after issuance of management’s go ahead.
Take part in any legal negotiations that the company may be involved in.
Perform any other duties and responsibilities which may be assigned by the management from time to time and which are related to the achievement of the organization’s mission and vision, especially on legal matters.
Background, competencies, and attributes (Knowledge, skills, and abilities may have been acquired through a combination of formal schooling, self-education, and prior experience or on-the-job-training).
Must hold a professional or a specialized qualification in Law from recognized institutions.
Job experience: At least five (5) years experience in the provision of legal services with partners who may be consulted on different areas of legal specialization.
An advocate of the high court of Kenya is a strong plus.

Technically proficient in legal matters and have in-depth knowledge of the local, regional and international legal environments and remains updated with current laws as well as legal evolution.
Outstanding communication skills and ability to build relationships with people.
Ability to convey complex legal information in a simple and precise manner to aid in decision-making and necessary approvals by the management.
Strong sense of attention to detail.
Demonstrated creativity, problem-solving and analytical skills.
Ability to complete the given tasks and requests promptly and accurately while demonstrating high level of motivation and tact while carrying out the said duties.
