The successful candidate will need to be able to support the School’s aims and Christian ethos.
To teach LAMDA lessons to students of a wide range from Prep to Senior School and to prepare them for graded LAMDA examinations.
The candidate will need to be up to date with the current LAMDA exam syllabus and the most recent LAMDA text anthologies coupled with a broad knowledge of additional paly texts.
To assess pupil’s skills and needs – liaising with the Head of Drama, Deputy Head, Director of Pastoral Care and other relevant staff regarding creative or pastoral matters as identified within the LAMDA lesson.
Ensure students acquire and consolidate knowledge, skills and understanding appropriate to the LAMDA specifications and student’s level.
To be responsible for arranging a timetable that is suitable for the needs of the pupils and takes into consideration other school commitments. Assistance with timetabling is available from the Assistant Deputy Head Academics and the Directors of Co-Curricula.

maintaining discipline in accordance with the School’s procedures and encouraging good practice with regard to punctuality, behaviour and standards of work
Knowledge and Experience
Qualifications
Essential
A minimum of LAMDA qualifications Level 3. LAMDA qualification Level 7 would be an added advantage
A relevant teaching qualification
A proven record of LAMDA exam success as well as a thorough working knowledge of the LAMDA syllabus
Good understanding of history of theatre and the work of significant practitioners
Ability to plan lessons, which challenge students and ensure high levels of interest
Desirable
Experience of performance skills needed for musical theatre, speaking verse and prose and public speaking
Experience in play direction and production
Ability to lead, motivate and train a team and maintain effective working relationships
Familiarity and experience of teaching to LAMDA’s examination syllabus requirements and an excellent track record of examination results

Excellent communication skills to enable effective dialogue with colleagues, staff, visitors and students
A proven record of meeting targets and deadline
Ability to perform well and remain professional whilst under pressure
Tactful and discreet, whilst mindful of observing Safeguarding and professional standards

Experience of working in small teams
Experience of arranging events during the School term.
