Responsibilities:
Receiving and analyzing specimens for microbiology testing.
Reviewing and approving results.
Ensuring timely reporting of critical values.
Producing valid results and ensuring maximum utilization of reagents and time.
Managing routine and planned preventive maintenance of equipment in the section.
Run daily quality controls on microbiology equipment.
Developing and implementing SOPs, as well as participating in SOPs writing in the section.
Maintaining high standards of hygiene and general and general cleanliness in work areas.
Participating in quality improvement and patient safety initiatives.
Participating in continuous medical education.
Preparing and packaging of samples at appropriate temperature to be outsourced and handed over to the collection agents.
Perform any other duties as may be assigned from time to time by the Supervisor or Designee.
Requirements:
Bachelor of Science or Higher Diploma in Medical Laboratory Technologyfrom a recognized institution.
Must be registered and licensed by Kenya Medical Laboratory Technicians and Technologists Board.
At least 3 years of working experience.
Must be competent with Microbiology Procedures.
Must be well versed in the required discipline.
Must be attentive to details.
Must be a good team player.
Must possess excellent oral and written communication skills.
