Laboratory Technician

Report to: Laboratory Supervisor
Main Responsibilities:
Inspectorate East Africa Ltd Laboratory Technician is responsible in undertaking a variety of laboratory procedures of technical nature.
The person will be handling sensitive equipment to test and analyze various commodity samples reporting findings to a laboratory supervisor.
Some of the Key tasks:

Preparing the sample containers, apparatus and equipment.
Drawing samples at appropriate stages in order to meet the requirement of the appointing parties.
Clearly labelling and sealing the samples
Delivering and registration of samples
Preparation of lab reagents.
Maintaining Quality Control Procedures and records
Testing and analysing various samples using the appropriate techniques,equipment or instruments
Organizing for servicing, repairs and calibration of lab instruments.
Availing timely reports.
Safe and proper Custody of Retention Samples
Proper disposal of laboratory waste, reagents and samples.
Maintaining good Laboratory records
Ensuring that safety in the lab is upheld.
Any other duty that may be assigned.

Key Qualifications & Requirements:

Minimum diploma in analytical Chemistry or a related field from a recognized learning institution.
Excellence in the applicable course
Good Personal Integrity and character
Good inter personal skills
Team player
Working knowledge MS Office Suite
Good communication skills
Fluent in oral and written English
Experience and knowledge of Quality and HSE Systems, preventative measures and laboratory bestpractices will be an added advantage
Salary will be determined based on experience and qualifications.
