Our client in the Manufacturing of Hygiene and Sanitary items located in Ruiru is looking to fill the positions of a Lab Attendant who will ensure the quality and consistency of hygiene and sanitary products by conducting routine laboratory tests, analyzing raw materials, in-process products, and finished goods. The role requires expertise in chemical processes and quality assurance, with a focus on ensuring compliance with industry standards.
Job Description
Sample Collection and Testing:
Collect and prepare samples of raw materials, in-process products, and finished goods for laboratory analysis.
Perform chemical and physical tests to ensure product quality and compliance with specifications.
Quality Assurance:
Analyze test results and compare them to established specifications.
Identify and report any deviations from quality standards to supervisors.
Implement corrective actions to address quality issues.
Laboratory Operations:
Maintain laboratory equipment and ensure its proper functioning.
Calibrate and standardize laboratory instruments as per protocols.
Prepare and maintain accurate records of test results and observations.
Compliance and Safety:
Ensure adherence to industry standards, safety regulations, and environmental guidelines.
Manage chemical inventory, including proper labeling and storage.
Process Optimization:
Collaborate with production teams to identify areas for improvement in product quality and manufacturing processes.
Job Requirements
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering or related field.
Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in the paper industry, preferably in a papermill environment.
