Knowledge Management Specialist [Learning and Development] – Retainer

Functional Responsibilities:
In close collaboration with the responsible UNAOC Programme Manager, as well as the other L&D officers, the incumbent will:

Organize and support the learning trajectory of the participants (during online and in-person trainings).
Identifying gaps in participants’ knowledge or skills through various assessment tools.
Collaborating with subject matter experts to ensure content accuracy and relevance of educational materials.
Bringing in external experts for specialized training sessions.
Track participants’ learning progress and program effectiveness.
Providing one-on-one coaching to the participants.
Identify potential platforms to organize and, if required, attend the final symposium (tentatively August 2024, at a location to be determined).

Education/Experience/Language requirements:

Education:

Advanced university degree (Master’s degree or equivalent) in preferably (peace) education, conflict and development studies, political science, international relations, social and humanitarian sciences, law, public administration, or a related field.
A first-level university degree with a relevant combination of academic qualifications and 2 years of work experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree.

Work experience:

Five (5) years of relevant experience in peace education and/or designing/facilitating learning trajectories for multicultural youth.
General knowledge or understanding of peacebuilding, youth-led organizations, capacity development, and/or international UN policy frameworks related to these fields.
Assets are experience in online training, intercultural and interfaith dialogue issues, media/communications as a medium for generating positive narratives, and other relevant peacekeeping themes.
Exposure to the LAC region is considered an asset.
Able to use a gender and intercultural approach.
Be able to work in a team.

Language:

Fluency in English is required.
Knowledge of another UN official language is an advantage.
