Junior Talent Partner

About the role
The Junior Talent Partner will provide technical support on talent-related matters to assigned teams and business leaders in our new cities across Kenya; specifically, you will support teams in Eldoret and Kisumu. This role will cut across both Talent Operations functions, including administrative support and Talent partnering with business units.
Duties and Responsibilities

Take lead of assigned Talent projects to bring out the talent perspective, engage relevant stakeholders to get buy-in, and successfully achieve the set goal for the project
Lead assigned teams in conducting root cause analysis of the issues facing their teams, proposing lasting solutions in liaison with the respective Team Leaders and ensuring that the agreed solutions are followed through and implemented
Share proposals on resolving overall Talent related issues that come up to Implement corrective actions agreed on and look into long-term preventative measures
Report regularly on the progress of assigned tasks and seek any support needed to meet expectations
Evaluate feedback received/observations made with regard to our HR processes, and propose improvement areas in line with best HR practices
Hold regular check-ins to interact with teammates in your allocated team to build relationships and therefore create a safe environment for them to reach out for assistance. 
Encourage a cordial working relationship and foster collaboration amongst all team members by encouraging participation from all teammates in all forums, including meetings, events, etc
Attend to Employee relations matters, e.g., disciplinery, staff grievances, etc that are reported to you within prescribed timelines
Manage relationships with our vendors to promote a harmonious working relationship ie. Caterers, Event suppliers, courier service providers, etc
Support and coach teammates, supervisors, and managers across the organization on measures they can take to improve performance within their teams
Use existing tools to plan your work and the resources needed to produce the desired outcome
Document your work plan versus actual results, share the learning of identified gaps and proposals on how to improve, and review them on a monthly basis
Be receptive to changes in processes, testing them out and sharing successes and challenges when implementing these ideas
Support teams in ensuring they identify their L&D needs and the budget is well-administered.
Oversee the tracking and replacing of office supplies as necessary to avoid interruptions in front-office procedures

Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resource Management or a related field of study
3+ years’ experience in HR operations, contract management, administration, employee relations, and performance management practices
Previous experience from an industrial or manufacturing setup, social impact or NGO sector is ideal
Experience in supporting field-based teams with a high degree of understanding and empathy for employees at the ‘shop floor’ level is preferred
Excellent communication skills, verbal and written – Ability to articulate challenges very clearly.
High emotional quotient showing discretion in addressing Both Senior Managers and shop floor teammates
Commercial acumen with proven ability to grasp how Talent impacts business objectives
Highly organized with a high capacity to problem solve and establish priorities for self and team
Excited about driving sanitation impact at scale and growth of our network
Impeccable integrity and ethics – maintaining a high level of confidentiality
This role is based in either Eldoret or Kisumu, with some traveling between the two locations periodically.
