Junior Site Engineer

Job Description:

To provide technical, (preventative) maintenance, repairs, installation and customer service support in order adhere to agreed SLAs with clients and to maximize client satisfaction.

Responsibility.

Maintenance

Performance Indicator

Execute maintenance and repairs of buildings and equipment in order to minimize ‘downtime.’

Day-to-day surveillance of building and equipment
Support maintenance and repairs on buildings and equipment (e.g. generators / cooling) as scheduled by the Facility (team) manager.
Document all maintenance and repairs made on buildings and equipment in a timely fashion.
Co-monitor and co-direct repairs and maintenance executed by external employees and document the results.
Monitor equipment and installations to ensure adherence to safety standards.
Co-provide input on power usage and for capacity planning.
Act as a first point of contact for ESC for technical requests.
Acts as first line of response on alarms and handle or escalate alarms according to guidelines.
Participate in the full continuous (24×7) call-out team.

Responsibility.

Customer Implementation

Performance Indicator

Execute physical customer implementation process.

Under the co-ordination of the Facility Manager, co-install or co-supervise installation of new customer equipment in the data centre and keep a complete record of the process and results.
Offer day to day Customer support during customer upgrades projects and support all customer queries coming through the customer portal or via phone calls.

Customer Service delivery

Performance Indicator

Provide service delivery of Value-Added Services (VAS).
Co-perform actual customer services as indicated in the client contract.

Health and Safety Compliance

Performance Indicator

Adhering to all Health and Safety Measures set out to ensure all works done at the site are safe.
Preparation of work permits
Adhering to four eye policy in all DC Operations
Preparation of Methods Operations Procedures (MOP) for all Operations.
Undertaking Risk assessment before undertaking any operations and seeking relevant approvals
Preparation of Change management forms for approval by the Facility Manager. 

Responsibility.

Operations Processes and Procedures

Performance Indicator

Understanding the company Processes, Procedures and adhering to them in day-to-day operations.
Operation of Building Management System (BMS)
Site Alarms Management and escalation.
Site stock Level Management in liaising with the team. 

Education Qualification

A degree in either Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or Mechatronic Engineering. 

Experience, Knowledge and Expertise:

Qualified electrician certificate is a distinct advantage.
Minimum of 1 –3 years’ experience as a technician in an electrical or industrial environment (e.g. full continuous factory)
Knowledge of data centres is a distinct advantage.
Fluent in English
