The junior designer at Wonderiss Homes will assist the lead designer in defining client(s) order requirements, creating furniture drawings and providing quality control support.
Responsibilities
Study design briefs and determine requirements in liaison with the design and sales teams.
Generate sample designs using computer-aided design (CAD) and hand sketches where needed.
Prepare furniture production drawings using Archicad or Sketchup.
Use appropriate colours and layouts for each drawing to match the product description.
Amend drawings or designs after client(s) feedback.
Provide support to the production team in ensuring designs are implemented as per the drawings provided.
Assist in quality control inspection of items in production from start to finish.
Study and maintain product knowledge from the company catalogue and emerging design trends.
Assist in showroom product arrangement and ensure items are always stocked.
Any other duty as assigned by the lead designer or management.
Requirements
Proficiency in computer-aided design (CAD) – knowledge in Archicad modelling would be an added advantage.
Minimum 1 year experience working in a wood-working setup, furniture workshop or timber manufacturing workshop.
Drawing skills and strong visual awareness.
Ability to work methodically within deadlines.
Excellent communication skills.
Attention to details.
Ability to manage workload and learn quickly and effectively.
A team player with strong interpersonal skills
