How would you like to join one of the world’s largest commercial security printers, and work with an established team of professionals?
The IT Intern’s role is to provide end user clients with support and maintenance. This includes installing, diagnosing, repairing, maintaining and upgrading all PC Software, PC Operating Systems, PC Hardware and equipment to ensure optimal workstation performance. The person will also participate in ongoing projects.
Key Responsibilities:
Work closely with the IT Team in the completion of projects that require development of scripts and automated tasks.
Testing of the scripts and automated tasks before deployment to live environment.
To interact with various clients and / or stakeholders to determine their problem statement through requirements gathering, conduct analysis of the requirements and come up with requirement and system specification documents.
To integrate various software and hardware solutions with other pre-existing or new software and hardware solutions to ensure that they work together as planned.
Prepare training manuals and work closely with the IT Team in the training of users.
Contribute to De La Rue’s technical documentation and participate in enforcement of IT policy, procedures, and standards.
Maintain current IT Service Delivery Processes, Work Instructions and Knowledge Database as required.
Record, log and track all incidents, problems and requests from end users via telephone, e-mail, in person or that are automatically logged into Altiris in a timely and courteous manner.
Perform 1st line diagnostics and record, track and document the Service Desk problem-solving process, including all successful and unsuccessful decisions made and actions taken, through to final resolution
Maintains open communication and positive working relationship with staff
Perform other duties/projects as assigned
Person Specification:
Qualifications, Training & Experience:
A Bachelor degree in Computer Science or equivalent
Must have experience in software development
Knowledge of various database platforms for example SQL server
Must understand desktop and web development with the following skills: Crystal Reports, Java, Php, Javascript
Knowledge on various encryption tools and its configuration for example PGP
Ability to communicate clearly within team, and to users on relevant subjects of the tasks undertaken
Hands-on hardware and software troubleshooting experience
Good level of technical knowledge of current protocols, operating systems and standards, including those used at De La Rue
Able to read and understand technical manuals, procedural documentation, and OEM guides
Eye for detail and identifying problems
Ability to conduct research into Software issues and products as required
