Responsibilities
Under the direct supervision of the Information Technology Officer, the intern will work with and learn from a team of experienced professionals in the area of information technology and conference support and will be offered the opportunity to:
Assist in updating the Montreal Protocol Handbook on the website and update of the printable version in InDesign;
Participate in the development of new web applications and web functionalities;
Review and clean historical Word Perfect and scanned documents for posting on the website;
Update web content, as and when required;
Support preparations for meetings, conferences, and other events;
Perform other duties as may be requested.

Education
To qualify for an internship with the United Nations Internship Programme, applicants must meet one of the following requirements:
Be enrolled in, or have completed, a graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher); or,
Be enrolled in, or have completed, the final academic year of a first university degree programme (minimum bachelor’s level or equivalent).
Studies/degree in the areas of Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Systems, Information Management or related fields.
Knowledge in web development technologies;
Familiarity with HTML, CSS, PHP, Python and Django;
Working knowledge of any Adobe graphic and layout packages; preferably Illustrator, InDesign or Photoshop.
Have demonstrated keen interest in the work of the United Nations and have a personal commitment to the ideals of the Charter.
Have a demonstrated ability to successfully interact with individuals of different cultural backgrounds and beliefs, which include willingness to try and understand and be tolerant of differing opinions and views.
