Meriam Project Background- Enabling Anticipatory Action for Acute Malnutrition in Practice through Strengthening Early Warning Systems The project seeks to enhance capabilities that enable key humanitarian stakeholders at both local and international levels to anticipate, act upon, and mitigate risks and impacts of crises involving acute malnutrition in young children, thus strengthening humanitarian preparedness. Specifically, this project aims to contribute to how operational strategies are developed and various humanitarian actors make operational decisions. Furthermore, this project will monitor and document how humanitarian actors decide to adopt and use the model products. These goals will be achieved by incorporating forecasts,generated from innovative predictive models, into existing Early Warning Systems led by humanitarian stakeholders.
The primary objective of this position is to ;
Perform analysis of trends; patterns using open-access secondary data sources available in the countries that can yield greater fidelity and more insight into the drivers of risk and potential avenues of intervention.
Support countries in data collection, mining or extracting usable data from valuable open data sources
Enhancing data collection procedures to include all relevant information for developing analytic systems for anticipatory action.
Processing, cleansing, and validating the integrity of data to be used for analysis
Analyzing large amounts of information to find patterns and solutions
Presenting results, from data gathered using various data visualization techniques and tools.
Requirements
Required Qualification/Skills
Bachelor’s Degree in MEAL,Statistics or related degree
Skills in data Processing/ management
A self-starter who can work independently under pressure and who has ability to management competing priorities without direct supervision.
Advanced English language proficiency
